UP: 5 burnt alive in a car soon after it collides with bus on Yamuna Expressway ( in pics)

Mathura, 12 February: The double-decker bus went out of control and collided with the divider at Milestone 117 of Yamuna Expressway under Mahavan police station area. During this, the Swift car coming from behind collided with the bus. With the collision, the diesel tank of the bus caught fire.

The five persons in the car did not get a chance to get out. Five people died inside the car in the fire. After receiving the information, the District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police reached the spot.

On Monday morning at around 7.30 am on the Yamuna Expressway, the tire of the sleeper coach bus got punctured and the bus went out of control and collided with the divider. A speeding car coming from behind collided with the bus. There was a loud explosion and both the vehicles started burning. In the accident, five people traveling in Swift car number DL 9 CAC 9726 were burnt alive. After the collision, the fire spread so fast that the occupants of the car could not even open the car gate. The car was being driven by Anshul Yadav, son of Manoj Yadav, resident of Shikohabad in Firozabad district. The remaining 4 are said to be from Govindpuri, Delhi.

As soon as information about the accident was received, the District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police and Mahavan Police, Fire Brigade team and Expressway rescue team reached the spot. Fire fighters were trying to extinguish the fire. The fire was so fierce that its flames and smoke were visible far away. The fire was extinguished within a few hours, but by then both the vehicles were burnt. As a precautionary measure, the police stopped the traffic going from Agra to Noida. All the passengers on board the bus were safely sent to their destination in other vehicles.

Senior Superintendent of Police Shailesh Kumar Pandey said that a bus and Swift car collided this morning on Yamuna Expressway in Mahavan police station area. In the investigation so far, it has been found that due to burst tire of the bus moving ahead, its balance was lost and the bus became tilted on the road. During this, the Swift car running behind collided with the bus. All the passengers in the bus had got down. The flames were so high that the people sitting in the car got trapped and got burnt. One deceased has been identified. Relatives are being contacted. Fire ambulance is on the spot.

After the horrific accident, Satya Prakash, who was traveling in the bus, told that the bus was going from Gaya in Bihar to Delhi. He was going to take the exam. His admit card, bag and money were burnt in the bus itself. The bus had stopped at a dhaba just before the accident site. At some distance from the dhaba, the bus got punctured and went out of control and hit the divider, then a speeding car coming from behind collided with the bus.

Passenger Rahat from Bangladesh said that there were 35-40 passengers in the bus. Suddenly the bus turned right and a car came and entered. The people traveling on the bus did not feel much about the accident. It felt like a shock. When I looked through the window, I saw that the car was on huge fire. The fire had spread in the bus also. Seeing this, there was panic among the passengers and the passengers jumped from the windows and ran to save their lives.
