UP: 4,86,085 street vendors identified in 60 cities, construction of 100 shelter homes for homeless finished

Lucknow, 12 February: The Yogi government has identified 4, 86,085 street vendors in a total of 60 cities under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana under the National Urban Livelihoods Mission. The work of registration, sales certificate and identity card is in progress.

According to the city development department, projects worth Rs 1652.16 crore have been approved for development of 19 model vending zones in Varanasi, Lucknow, Meerut, Agra, Prayagraj, Loni, Ghaziabad, Saharanpur and Shahjahanpur for urban street vendors, on which work in progress.

At present, 148 shelter homes will be constructed for 9681 urban homeless people at a cost of Rs. 245.016 crore.

At present, the construction work of 100 shelter homes is being completed and these are being operated and the remaining work is in progress.
