UP: 22 fresh cases in 24 hours, 339 O2 plants functional to tackle possible 3rd wave of Covid-19

Lucknow, August 25: The situation of coronavirus transmission across Uttar Pradesh is improving rapidly. The most populous UP, among other states, is on top in reining in the virus infection from other states.

Meanwhile, 2.5 lakh corona tests are being done daily in the state, rapidly increasing the testing capacity in a short time. So far 7, 10, 73,105 Covid-19 tests have been done across the state. In the last 24 hours, 1, 87,218 Covid samples were tested in which 22 fresh cases were found.

A spokesman of the state government said here on Wednesday that the number of active Covid cases in the state has now reached 345, which is much less than other states. In other states, many times more new cases are coming daily than in UP, whereas, due to the decisions taken under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi, the number of active cases in UP has fallen rapidly.

The spokesperson said that in terms of active cases, while the active cases of corona are decreasing daily in UP, 49,752 in Maharashtra, 1,59,355 in Kerala, 19,784 in Karnataka, 18,603 in Tamil Nadu, 13,677 in Andhra Pradesh, 7,885 in Odisha, 6,658 active cases were registered in Assam, 9,217 in West Bengal and 6,276 in Telangana.

339 Oxygen Plants became functional

An official spokesman apprised that so far 339 oxygen plants have been made functional across the entire state in view of the possible arrival of third wave. The state government has set a target to make about 552 oxygen plants functional in the state. Due to the activation of all these oxygen plants, there will be no shortage of oxygen in the hospitals of the state in future also. The recovery rate of corona in the state is 98.6 percent, while the positivity rate was 0.01 percent.

UP tops in vaccination

He informed that other states of the country are far behind in jab than Uttar Pradesh with a population of 24 crores. In other states including West Bengal, Maharashtra, Delhi, where vaccination is going on at a slow pace despite having less population, UP is continuously making records. So far more than 06 crore 53 lakh vax have been administered in UP. In which so far more than 5 crore 49 lakh first doses and more than one crore 03 lakh second doses have been given.
