Udaipur, 28 June: A Hindu tailor who had put up a post in favour of former BJP national spokesperson Nupur Sharma was brutally murdered in broad daylight on Tuesday in the Maldas Street area in the heart of the city.

A large number of traders reached the spot and expressed strong indignation while the shopkeepers shut down shutters.

The killers came to tailor Kanhaiya Lalโ€™s shop on the pretext of getting clothes stitched and killed him, while recording the video, which has gone viral.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has appealed to all the people to maintain peace. “I condemn the heinous murder of youths in Udaipur. Strict action will be taken against all the criminals involved in this incident, and the police will go to the full extent of the crime. I appeal to all parties to maintain peace. The harshest punishment will be given to every person involved in the heinous crime.”

Gehlot also appealed to the public not to share the video of the murder. “I appeal to everyone not to try to spoil the atmosphere by sharing the video of this incident. By sharing the video, the criminal’s purpose of spreading hatred in society will be successful,โ€ he said.

A large number of police personnel have been deployed in the area. The collector and SP are trying to convince the people on the spot, but the agitated people are pressing for the accused to be arrested.

Udaipur SP Manoj Chowdhary said, a ruthless murder had taken place and strict action would be taken against the accused. At present, the body is lying on the spot. People of various organizations have refused to let the police lift the dead body till proper action is taken.
