Kanpur Dehat, December 27: The police arrested the accused of raping a minor in the Gajner police station area of โโKanpur Dehat district in Uttar Pradesh after an encounter late Friday night. An illegal pistol was recovered from the accused.
The Circle Officer (CO) Akbarpur Sanjay Singh said on Saturday that on December 24, a man reported to the police station that Deshraj, a resident of his village, had raped his minor daughter, leaving her pregnant. Police registered a case based on the victim’s complaint and began searching for the accused.
The CO said that the accused was shot in the leg in the police’s retaliatory firing and has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. The police recovered a 315 bore pistol, two empty cartridges, and one live cartridge from the accused. A case has already been registered against the accused under serious sections of the POCSO Act and the BNS. Further action is being taken against the accused.
Moradabad, December 27: The Civil Lines police station of Moradabad district in Uttar Pradesh arrested Asim, the accused of brutalizing a six-year-old girl in the Agwanpur area, during an encounter early Saturday morning. He was shot in the leg. Police admitted the arrested accused Asim to the district hospital.
The Superintendent of Police (City) Kumar Ranvijay Singh stated that the arrested accused has previously been jailed for raping another girl.
The SP said that the victim’s father, a resident of Agwanpur in the Civil Lines area, filed a complaint at the Civil Lines police station late Thursday night, stating that his six-year-old daughter was sent by her aunt to buy betel leaves from the market at 6:45 pm on Thursday. He encountered the accused Asim on the way. He took the girl to a ruined building and raped her. The victim’s family was stunned when she returned home crying and recounted her ordeal.
