New Delhi, 01 March: The Supreme Court asked one of the rape accused if you want to marry the victim. Chief Justice SA Bobde asked this question during the hearing of a petition by a government official in Maharashtra.

The order of dismissing the anticipatory bail petition of the accused officer by the Aurangabad Bench of the Bombay High Court was challenged in the Supreme Court.

When the Chief Justice asked the counsel for the petitioner whether the accused would marry the victim, the petitioner’s lawyer would have to take instructions from his client for this.

The court said that we are not pressuring you. The lawyer for the accused then said that his client is a government official and if he is arrested, he will be suspended. The court then said that it should have been thought of before raping the minor girl.
