Taliban supports development of Chabahar port by India

Kabul, 09 Dec: Taliban government in Afghanistan supporting India in building Chabahar Sea Port in Iran is a major shock to Pakistan. The port connected India to Moscow in the North-South corridor, via Iran and Azerbaijan. India is investing 850 million dollars in developing the port in Iran?s Chabahar, which would connect directly India with Central Asian countries. The port also helps in direct supply to Afghanistan.

The port is being developed to facilitate transport and trade in the region. The Taliban government has also announced all kinds of help for developing the port. Taliban Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed the development. Taliban has also appealed to India to help in the development of the new Kabul city.

India has already provided six mobile harbour cranes to Chabahar port. The $ 25 million worth of equipment has also been given by India to the port. The cranes can lift 140 tonnes in a day. The port has already been used for humanitarian help extended to the people during crises. In the year 2020 India supplied 76,000 tonnes of wheat to Afghanistan through this seaport..
