New Delhi, August 7: The Supreme Court has postponed the hearing on the caste-based survey in Bihar. A bench headed by Justice Sanjiv Khanna refused to stay the order of the Patna High Court for the time being. The next hearing in the case will be on August 14.

The Supreme Court said that it would hear all the petitions filed against the High Court judgement together. Petitioner Akhilesh Kumar and other petitioners have filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the order of the Patna High Court.

On August 2, the Patna High Court dismissed the petitions challenging the decision of the Bihar government to conduct a caste-based survey.

After the order of the Patna High Court, the Bihar government has filed a caveat petition in the Supreme Court.
