Lucknow, 28 Aug: Swami Prasad Maurya, the head of the Samajwadi Party, who sparked a significant scandal with his comments on Ramcharitmanas, is under fire again for his comments on Brahminism and the Hindu faith.

This time, he has called Hinduism “deceptive” and a “hoax.”

He commented in a video released on X (formerly Twitter), “The roots of Brahminism are very deep, and the reason for all the disparity is also Brahminism. There is no such thing as Hinduism; it is a sham. There is a plan to trap our country’s Dalits, tribals, and backward people by branding the same Brahmin religion as Hindu religion. If there had been a Hindu religion, tribals, dalits, and backward people would have been honored, but what an irony…”

His comments triggered a backlash on social media, with others accusing him of “spreading hatred.”
