So far, 3,959 swab samples tested, 300 infected, 168 positive cases from Lucknow

Lucknow, July 16: The pace of spread of coronavirus in the state has now become very fast. With the spike in the number of new patients, the number of dead from the infection is also increasing daily.

Of the 3,959 samples tested on Wednesday at the Microbiology Department of the King George’s Medical University (KGMU) in the capital, 300 reported to be positive cases of Covid-19 on Thursday. These include 168 from Lucknow, 55 from Hardoi, 52 from Moradabad, 14 from Barabanki, 06 from Kannauj and 01-01 patients from Sitapur, Gorakhpur, Ballia, Shahjahanpur and Sambhal.

At the same time, 62-year-old corona-infected senior citizen, resident of Jagdishpur, Ballia died due to Covid-19 in the ICU ward here today. The patient was admitted on Wednesday and he also had diabetes problems due to the infection, the patient went to respiratory failure and could not be saved even after many attempts.

Along with this, new cases of corona have also been confirmed in reports from several other laboratories. Of the samples sent from Kushinagar on Thursday morning, 16 of the test reports were all positive, now the number of infected in the district has gone up to 341.

Meanwhile, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr NP Gupta told that information about everyone is being gathered and a team of Health Department is being sent to the village for those who came in contact with the infected are being marked. CMO told that seven people have died so far and 168 people have been sent home after recovering.

In Siddharthanagar, 12 people were found positive in the report on Thursday morning. These include two police personnel from the police line, one health worker from CHC Khesraha, two from Sarojini Nagar in the municipality town, one from Bhimapar and two from the civil line, two from Patiyapar in Khuniaon, one from Bhawaniganj and one from Tekghar Mahalia in Bansi.

According to the Health Department, 341 people have been found positive so far, of which 262 have been cured.

In Sant Kabirnagar on Thursday, out 420 sawb samples, 20 people were found to be infected with virus.

According to ACMO Dr Mohan Jha, the maximum number of them is 10 people found in Khalilabad block, 07 in Semriyawan block and 01-1 patients in Pauli, Nathanagar and Belharkala blocks. In Khalilabad and Belharkalan blocks, 01-1 ie two men have been found corona infected in Lucknow. Both these positive patients are undergoing treatment in the Corona ward of Lucknow. The remaining 18 positive patients are being admitted to the Corona L-1 Ward of St. Thomas Inter College-Khalilabad for treatment. The number of corona positive patients in the district has now increased to 484.

A constable posted at Dhanaipur police station of Gonda district was found to be Corona positive. After confirmation of this in the report, now the complainants after screening are able to get entry as barricade has been placed at the entrance of the police station. Thermal screening of the visiting complainants was done on Thursday. Precautionary sampling of 15 policemen of the police station was done on Monday in which a report of one policeman came positive. A list of people coming in contact with the constable is being prepared. Sampling will also be done if required.

The former chief medical officer’s son and granddaughter in Agra have also been found infected. Now the total number of corona infections has reached 1439. As of Wednesday night, 12 new cases have been reported. There are currently 165 cases.

Keeping in view the spread of infection in the state, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed that the Additional Director and Joint Director Level Nodal Officer of Health Department posted in all the districts should regularly monitor all arrangements of Covid-19 hospitals.

CM said that regular rounds should be taken by doctors and nursing staff in hospitals. Patients should be monitored by paramedics. A smooth system of oxygen should be available in all hospitals, medical colleges and medical institutions including Covid and Non Covid hospitals.

He has instructed to maintain special vigilance in Lucknow, Kanpur Nagar, Amroha and Jhansi districts.
