Schools are opening from August 16, authorities should be alert, says CM Yogi in Varanasi

Varanasi, August 12: The Chief Minister of the state, Yogi Adityanath, during his visit to Varanasi, reviewed the progress of major development projects in progress in the district at Circuit House on Thursday.

During this, he said that record works of development have been done in Varanasi and it is going on continuously. At present, 117 major projects worth Rs 8817.27 crore are underway in the district. Among the ongoing major projects, 75 projects worth Rs 5219.45 crore will be completed by December this year.

The Chief Minister said that working in Kashi is a privilege. Officers should take care that there are no potholes in the roads in the entire city, there is no sewer overflow. In the meeting, the Chief Minister expressed displeasure over the delay in the works of Jal Nigam and asked the Chief Engineer to complete the work of Shahi Nala before October 15. Otherwise, action will be taken against them.

The Chief Minister inquired about the corona control works from the Chief Medical Officer. The CMO said that on an average 5000 tests are being done in the district. In which only a few cases come out positive.

He directed to continue contract tracing, make health services tidy, ambulances, beds, stretchers etc. to be available on time to the patient.

Schools will open from August 16

In the meeting, the Chief Minister told that from August 16, secondary education and from September 1 to class 6 will start in schools. Before this, after inspecting the schools, District Inspector of Schools (DIoS), Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA), SDI should see the cleanliness, pure drinking water, toilet system, no weeds etc. All the teachers came to school. Contact the parents to invite the children.

The Chief Minister inquired about the cleanliness, garbage disposal from the Municipal Commissioner.

The Chief Minister stressed on improving the traffic system of the city. He said that the effect of becoming Police Commissionerate should be reflected in the law and order situation of the city. In the review meeting, the presentation of the development projects was done by the commissioner Deepak Agarwal.

In the meeting, Tourism Minister Neelkanth Tiwari, Stamp Minister Ravindra Jaiswal, MLA Saurabh Srivastava, MLA Surendra Narayan Singh, MLA Awadhesh Singh, MLC Laxman Acharya, MLC Ashok Dhawan, District Panchayat President Poonam Maurya, Mayor Manjula Jaiswal, Commissioner Deepak Agarwal, IG SK Bhagat, Police Commissioner A Satish Ganesh, District Magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma, Chief Development Officer, Municipal Commissioner and other departmental officers were present.
