Sardar Iqbal Singh Lalpura takes over as Chairman of National Commission for Minorities

New Delhi, 10 September: Former Indian Police Service ( IPS) officer and Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJPโ€™s) national spokesperson Sardar Iqbal Singh Lalpura on Friday took over as the Chairman of the National Commission for Minorities (NCM).

Thus, the notification for the appointment of Sardar Lalpura as the Chairman of the National Commission for Minorities was issued by the Central Government on Thursday itself.

Sardar Lalpura took charge during a program in the office of National Commission for Minorities today. Union Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi was also present on the occasion. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi addressed the people present on the occasion.

Naqvi said that Sardar Iqbal Singh Lalpura is already well aware about all the problems of the minority community.

Naqvi said that new Chairman would work here with full devotion and honesty to protect the interests of the minorities. Naqvi said that the NCM has been set up to protect the problems and interests of minorities across the country.

Congratulating Sardar Iqbal for his new responsibility, he said that we hope that we will fulfill our duties well and will continue to make efforts to protect the interests of minorities across the country.

Sardar Iqbal Singh Lalpura has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi for handing over the responsibility of Chairman of the National Commission for Minorities and said that Prime Minister Modi and Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi have reposed in him the trust he has reposed in him, and he will do everything possible to protect the interests of the minorities. A large number of people from the Sikh community as well as the minority community were present on this occasion.
