Gorakhpur, 10 September: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that man is the best creation of God. If a man is ineligible, then assume that he did not get a capable organizer. Man cannot be ineligible if he gets a capable teacher. In this perspective, the universally accepted reputation of Mahant Digvijay Nath Maharaj and Rashtrasant Brahmalin Mahant Avaidyanath has been that of a capable organizer.
CM Yogi was expressing his feelings on the death anniversary of Mahant Digvijay Nath on Wednesday as part of the weekly tribute ceremony organized on the occasion of the 56th death anniversary of Mahant Digvijay Nath Maharaj and the 11th death anniversary of Mahant Avaidyanath Maharaj.
Chief Minister said that there is no such letter which does not have the ability to become a ‘mantra’ and there is no such plant which does not have medicinal properties. No person is incapable just like that, what is needed is a ‘Guru’ who recognizes the ability of the person and gives him the right direction. The Brahmaleen Mahants of Gorakshapeeth always played the role of Yojak and showed direction to the society and the nation. The entire life of the previous two spiritual teachers Mahant Digvijay Nath Ji Maharaj and Mahant Avaidyanath Maharaj was dedicated to the country and religion.
Sadhu is alone, society is his family, Sanatan is his caste
Chief Minister said that a ‘sadhu’ is alone. Society is his family, nation is his clan and his caste is only Sanatan.
He said that the resolution of saints has purity, firmness, the resolution has parts of his sadhana. And, when a true saint takes a resolution, its results are sure to come. Late Mahant Digvijay Nath and Late Mahant Avaidyanath were saints with such resolutions. The result of their resolution to build Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya and the struggle done for the resolution is in front of the whole world today.
Mahant Digvijay Nath came to Gorakhpur from the tradition of Hindu son Maharana Pratap
Chief Minister, while paying homage to the holy memory of late Mahant Digvijay Nath ji Maharaj, said that Mahant Shri was born in the family tradition of historically famous Mewar which never surrendered in front of foreign invaders. He came to Gorakhpur from the tradition of Hindu son Maharana Pratap. His life was not limited to spiritual upliftment only, but along with the rise of religion, he also gave importance to worldly progress in the interest of society and nation through education and service for the common people. Mahant Avaidyanath also did the same work.
Chief Minister said that Mahant Digvijay Nath ji was the architect of the present form of Gorakhnath temple. He established it as a magnificent temple of Sanatan tradition. Along with this, he is also famous as the pioneer of educational revolution in eastern Uttar Pradesh. In 1932, along with the establishment of Maharana Pratap Education Council, he had resolved to establish a university in Gorakhpur. After the independence of the country, when the matter of establishing a university in Gorakhpur moved forward, many people backed out. Then Mahant Digvijay Nath ji ensured the establishment of the university by donating his two degree colleges. He also fulfilled the resolution of establishing a center for girl education by building a girl school.
CM Yogi said that Mahant Digvijay Nath had resolved to remove the symbols of slavery. It was his and Mahant Avaidyanath’s resolve and dream to build a grand Shri Ram temple by removing the structure that is a symbol of slavery in Ayodhya. Today, this resolve of both the Acharyas has been fulfilled by removing the marks of slavery. He said that today there will be no Indian who does not feel proud after seeing the grand temple on the birthplace of Shri Ram in Ayodhya. If there is someone like this, then his being an Indian will be doubted.
In his address, CM Yogi also mentioned the proclamation of developed India given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that developed India is not just a political resolve but it is the mantra of India and Indianness. With the vision of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, India had once made the world realize its strength. It is India’s tradition that no one fights among themselves. For this to happen again, a developed and self-reliant India is needed. Therefore, every Indian will have to join the resolve of developed India. When the resolve is from the heart, it is definitely fulfilled.
Chief Minister said that weekly events in the memory of revered Acharyas in Goraksha Peeth are part of the tradition of the Peeth. Apart from the temple, events are being organized in all the institutions of Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad today to express gratitude to the revered Acharyas.
He said that traditions are our heritage. The present and future generations need to take inspiration and learn from them. In the context of heritage, he also mentioned the world’s first university in undivided India, Takshila University established in the name of Takshila, the son of Bharat, brother of Lord Shri Ram.
He told that Panini’s grammar progressed from this Takshila University. Maharishi Sushruta and Charak, the father of Ayurveda, came out of this university. This was the oldest university for many fields including Ayurveda, grammar, economics, political science, agriculture.
