Man sets himself alight outside Samajwadi party office in Lucknow

Lucknow, 10 September: A youth set himself on fire by pouring flammable substance outside the Samajwadi Party (SP) office at the Vikramaditya Marg on Wednesday in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. The local people rescued him and admitted him to the civil hospital. Gautam Palli police station reached the spot after getting the information and is investigating the matter.

Police station in-charge Pankaj Kumar Ambasht said that the youth has been identified as Yogendra alias Bobby, who lives behind the Tin Wali Mosque in Aligarh. Brother Gaddu said that Yogendra was having a dispute with Danish and his brothers, who live in the same village, over six lakh rupees. He asked for his money from Danish, brother Wasim, Nazim many times but they abused him and drove him away. They also threatened him with life and property.

When he complained to the police in this matter, his complaint was not heard there either. The victim Yogendra had reached the party office on Wednesday to meet Akhilesh Yadav along with his brother and a woman he knew from the village. The woman and Gaddu went inside the office. Meanwhile, Yogendra, taking advantage of the situation, poured inflammable material outside the office and set it on fire. The local people somehow saved him from the fire and admitted him to the civil hospital for treatment.

The police station in-charge said that information regarding this matter has been given to the police station of the concerned district.
