Bhopal, 01 November: Following the warning of Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra, fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee has removed the controversial advertisement of Mangalsutra, as well as expressed grief for his mistake.

Designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee said in a tweet that this advertisement has hurt a section of the society. I am deeply sorry for this.

A day earlier i.e. on Sunday, Home Minister Narottam Mishra had warned fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee of legal action over the controversial advertisement of Mangalsutra.

Minister had said through a tweet that the advertisement of Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s mangalsutra is extremely objectionable and hurtful. If the objectionable advertisement is not removed within 24 hours, legal action will be taken by registering a case against Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

Home Minister Mishra said that the most important of jewellery is that of Mangalsutra from a religious point of view. We believe that the yellow part of the mangalsutra is Maa Parvati and the black part is Lord Shiva. Married life remains happy by the grace of Maa Parvati. I strongly object to the fact that despite all the warnings, there is a systematic process of tampering with Hinduism and its symbols, which will not be tolerated. If you have guts then show this type of advertisement on any other religion.

He said that if the advertisement is not removed within 24 hours then FIR will be registered against the culprits.

In fact, Sabyasachi Mukherjee featured a semi-nude model in the Mangalsutra advertisement, which was strongly opposed by social media users. Many religious and social organizations and women had also protested and asked to apologize for the advertisement.

Home Minister Narottam Mishra has said through a tweet on Monday that fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee has removed the advertisement of Mangalsutra, so now the matter has come to an end.

He has said in a warning tone that we are considering such an act playing with Hindu religion as the first mistake of Sabyasachi and Dabur Company. If this happens again in the future, then there will be no warning, direct action will be taken.
