Lucknow/Kanpur, 06 October: After receiving the notice, IAS Iftikharuddin recorded his statement before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in connection with the charges of religious conversion at the CBCID office on Wednesday. During this, his wife and two relatives were also present.

The problems of IAS Iftikharuddin, the then Divisional Commissioner of Kanpur, who is facing charges of religious conversion, are increasing as all his viral videos were found to be correct and his religious books are also being studied by the SIT.

Videos of senior IAS officer Iftikharuddin, who was the Divisional Commissioner of Kanpur in the SP government, had gone viral in the past. It was clearly visible in the viral video that he is reading the tales of Islam by holding religious meetings at his official residence.

After this, the Yogi constituted an SIT under the leadership of CBCID DG GL Meena in the case. After several days of investigation, the SIT found all the viral videos to be true and a notice was issued to Iftikharuddin to give his statement.

After this, Iftikharuddin reached the CBCID office in Lucknow on Wednesday along with his wife and two relatives and recorded his statement. SIT officers interrogated the officer running the religion class in a closed room for a full six hours.

During this he did not answer many questions. The SIT also collected information related to three IAS books and videos.

If sources are to be believed, during his posting in Kanpur, he has admitted to having arguments and writing a book at the Divisional Commissioner’s residence.

After the investigation and interrogation of the SIT, Iftikharuddin has been found accused and the government can take action against him.

However, after questioning, Iftikharuddin quietly left the spot. In such a situation, it is believed that the SIT will send its report to the government within a day or two.

SIT chief DG CBCI GL Meena, ADG Kanpur Zone Bhanu Bhaskar were present on this occasion.
