Prayagraj, 28 August: The joint police team of Kareli police station and surveillance and SOG located in Prayagraj district of UP unearthed the murder mystery of the child after kidnapping and arrested Baba Sarann Singh, cousin of the deceased, on Thursday. The police team has recovered the tools used in the murder, shaw and chopper, 500 rupees, police said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Nagar Abhishek Bharti said that the arrested accused is Saran Singh, son of late Nand Singh, resident of Saidapur of Kareli police station area. During interrogation, it was learned that Saran Singh’s daughter and son in the family of the deceased had committed suicide in 2023-24. After which the accused Saran Singh started getting very upset. To get rid of this pain, he contacted a tantric. The tantric told that the grandmother of the deceased child did some tantric rituals, due to which his daughter and son committed suicide. After getting this information, Saran Singh made a plan to take revenge and to execute the crime, he kidnapped Ayush alias Yash son of late Ajay Singh on August 26 while he was going to school and killed him inside the room and threw the body parts of the child at different places at night.
It is worth mentioning that Kamini Singh wife of late Ajay Singh, resident of Sadiyapur village of Kareli police station area, informed the police on August 26 that her 17 year old son left home to go to school Saraswati Vidya Mandir Shastri Nagar Kareli but did not return home.
On the above information, Kareli police station took immediate action and registered Section 137(2) BNS in the police station and police teams were formed to successfully uncover the incident. Police teams became active. On August 26 itself, some parts of the child’s body were found in Industrial police station area. On getting this information, police teams started investigating CCTV footage and reached the killer.
DCP Nagar said that teams have been formed to investigate the role of the tantric in this incident and to arrest him.
