Rain likely to occur in UP due to activity of western disturbance, predicts weatherman

Kanpur, January 28: Due to change in the direction of winds, there was some increase in the day temperature and due to sunlight, people also got relief from cold, but this situation remained limited to 48 hours only. 

The Meteorological Department says that Western Disturbance is going to be active in the mountains due to which there will be snowfall in the mountains and due to change in the direction of winds, the cold will increase again in Uttar Pradesh. Along with this, there are chances of rain in some districts.

Dr SN Sunil Pandey, meteorologist of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agricultural Technology, said on Sunday that a western disturbance is likely to affect the western Himalayan region from January 31. 

Pandey told that at the same time, there is a cyclone over Vidarbha and adjacent Marathwada. There is a possibility of heavy snowfall and heavy rain in the mountains. These disturbances can create a cyclonic circulation over North India, which can cause light rain with clouds up to Punjab, Haryana and Kanpur division and Lucknow and heavy rain in many areas of Uttar Pradesh and at some places between 3 to 5 February. Hail may also fall.

He told that the maximum temperature in Kanpur was recorded at 19.6 and the minimum temperature was 5.8 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity in the morning was 97 percent and the relative humidity in the afternoon was 85 percent. The direction of the winds was north-east with an average speed of 3.4 km per hour. 

According to the weather forecast, there is a possibility of severe cold and dense fog in the morning and night and sunshine in the afternoon.
