New Delhi, 27 Aug: Several Delhi metro stations in the national capital were defaced with pro-Khalistan graffiti on Sunday, purportedly by persons linked with the banned Sikhs For Justice (SFJ), a front for the separatist Khalistan Group.

Anti-India graffiti was seen on the walls of Shivaji Park, Udyog Nagar, Paschim Vihar, Nangloi, and Punjabi Bagh. “India Banega Khalistan” (India Will Become Khalistan) and “Khalistan Zindabad” (Long Live Khalistan) were the slogans. “Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) also released raw footage of Delhi Metro stations with pro-Khalistan slogans defaced,” an officer stated.

“Suspected SFJ activists defaced multiple Metro stations in Delhi, right from Shivaji Park to Punjabi Bagh – with pro-Khalistan slogans,” the officer continued.

Pro-Khalistan slogans were observed being removed off the wall of the Maharaja Surajmal Stadium Metro Station by Delhi Police. “Someone has written ‘Delhi Banega Khalistan and Khalistan Zindabad’ in more than 5 metro stations.” “The Delhi Police is taking legal action against this,” the police department stated.

According to DCP Metro Ram Gopal Naik, a complaint has been filed against unnamed SFJ associates under sections 153 A, 505, and the Defacement Act. The incident has heightened security fears ahead of the 18th G20 Summit, which will be held in Delhi on September 9 and 10 under India’s leadership.
