Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to attend RaGa’s BJNY in Western UP

Lucknow, 22 February: Congress politician Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is scheduled to join the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Moradabad on February 24, and would accompany it for the balance of its Uttar Pradesh leg over the weekend, sources said Thursday.

She was supposed to join the yatra when it arrived in Uttar Pradesh in Chandauli, but she was unable to do so due to illness and subsequent hospitalisation, according to officials. The Congress general secretary will join the yatra when it resumes from Moradabad on Saturday and will accompany it throughout its leg in western Uttar Pradesh, according to sources. According to reports, the Congress has asked Samajwadi Party head Akhilesh Yadav to join in the Agra yatra.

The yatra will begin in the morning of February 24 from Moradabad, via Sambhal, Aligarh, Hathras, and Agra districts before concluding in Dholpur, Rajasthan, on Sunday. Congress has declared February 26 to March 1 to be break days so that Rahul Gandhi can fulfill his long-standing commitment to deliver two special lectures at his alma mater Cambridge University in the United Kingdom on February 27 and February 28, as well as attend other important meetings in New Delhi.

The yatra will resume from Dholpur at 2 p.m. on March 2. It will then go on to cover Morena, Gwalior, Shivpuri, Guna, Shajapur, and Ujjain, among other Madhya Pradesh districts. On March 5, Rahul Gandhi will visit the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain.
