Prayagraj, January 22: A joint police team on Thursday from Meja police station and Cyber ​​Police Station in Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh arrested an accused for circulating a misleading video using AI and making it viral on social media, thereby tarnishing the image of Magh Mela, police, and saints.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Cyber ​​Cell Nodal Incharge Kuldeep Singh Gunawat stated that the Cyber ​​Crime Police Station is continuously monitoring misleading information and video content being circulated on social media platforms in view of the Magh Mela 2026. In this context, Deepak Mukesh Tiwari, a Facebook profiler, used AI to tarnish the image of Magh Mela 2026, an event of religious and national importance. The negative portrayal in the video attempts to create anger, fear, and animosity in society. Due to the fear of disturbance of peace and order due to this, a case has been registered in the Cyber ​​Crime Police Station under FIR No.-10/2026 Section 196, 196(1)(B) IPC and 66D IT Act.
He told that the accused Deepak Kumar Tiwari alias Mukesh Kumar Tiwari, resident of Lakhanpur village of Meja police station area, was caught by the cyber team and police station on Thursday. Further action is being taken by sending the arrested accused to jail.
Cyber ​​Crime Nodal Incharge Kuldeep Singh Gunawat appealed to the general public not to post any misleading, unverified or old videos and information related to Magh Mela 2026 on social media. Strict legal action will be taken against those doing so.
