PM Modi’s visit to DU: VC takes stock of preparations

New Delhi, June 27: Vice Chancellor Prof Yogesh Singh took stock of the preparations regarding the proposed visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Delhi University (DU) on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister will attend the concluding programme of the centenary celebrations of Delhi University on June 30 as the chief guest.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh told reporters after visiting the venue that on this occasion, the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of three new buildings virtually.

He informed me that on the occasion of the closing ceremony, an exhibition will also be organised in the basement of the Multiperpage Hall of the Delhi University Sports Complex on a proud 100-year visit of the university.

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chief guest at the ceremony while union Education and Skill Development Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will be the special guest.

A meeting was also held on the Advance Security League (ASL) under the chairmanship of the Vice Chancellor on Tuesday for the successful organisation of the closing ceremony.

The meeting was attended by the presidents of various committees formed for the closing ceremony, concerned government officials, and various senior officials of the university.

Apart from this, a meeting of elected members of the Academic Council (AC) of Delhi University was also held in the afternoon under the chairmanship of the Vice Chancellor.

After that, the Vice Chancellor also held a meeting with all the members of the Executive Council (EC) of Delhi University.
