PM Modi to address the 7th Yoga Day program on Monday

New Delhi, 20 June: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, on June 21, programs related to yoga will be organized in many countries of the world including India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also address the 7th Yoga Day program through virtual medium on Monday at 6:30 am.

Giving information about his tomorrow’s program in a tweet, Prime Minister Modi wrote, “Tomorrow on 21st June we will celebrate 7th Yoga Day. This year’s theme is ‘Yoga for Wellness’, which focuses on practicing yoga for physical and mental wellness. He said that he will address the Yoga Day program tomorrow morning at around 6.30 am.

In view of the Corona pandemic, this year’s International Yoga Day will be celebrated as a television program in which Prime Minister Modi’s address will be the main attraction.

The program will be telecast through Doordarshan channels at 6:30 am, which will also be addressed by AYUSH Minister Kiren Rijiju and there will be a live telecast related to the yoga performance of Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga.

International Yoga Day will also be coordinated around the world through Indian missions and events related to it will be held in about 190 countries.

In view of the worldwide epidemic, the 7th Yoga Day has not been able to dampen the enthusiasm associated with it and people are joining the events related to it through digital medium sitting at home. This year’s Yoga Day theme is ‘Yoga for Wellness’.

The Yoga Day program will begin with the Prime Minister’s address. After this there will be a yoga performance of about 45 minutes. After the live telecast yoga performance, 15 spiritual masters and yoga gurus will deliver their message.

It is noteworthy that on December 11 2014, the United Nations (UN) declared June 21 as International Yoga Day.

June 21 is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, so this day was chosen for International Yoga Day all over the world. International Yoga Day was celebrated for the first time all over the world on June 21 2015.
