PM Modi pays obeisance at Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi, devotees, locals chant ‘Har Har Mahadev’, ‘Jai Shree Ram’

Varanasi, March 09: After being made the BJP candidate for the third time from Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency, on Saturday evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid obeisance at the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi.

Temple Archaka Pt. Shrikant Pandey performed the ‘puja’ of the sacred Jyotirlinga of Baba in the golden sanctum sanctorum of the temple amid the chanting of Vedic mantras. In the Siddha Yoga of Chaturdashi of Krishna Paksha of Phalgun month, the Prime Minister applied sandalwood on his forehead and also recited the mantra of victory. During this, the Prime Minister also anointed Baba by chanting mantras while showing affection and reverence towards Baba Vishwanath.

After offering prayer, Modi accepted greetings the Shiva devotees present in the temple in victory posture. 

During this time, Prime Minister and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were also seen immersed in devotion to Lord Shiva. The Prime Minister, who is on his 45th visit to temple town, met the Chairman of the Temple Trust at Kashi Vishwanath Dham, Prof. Nagendra Pandey and other officials. After performing ‘puja’ at Kashi Vishwanath temple, the Prime Minister left for Bareka Guest House.

Before this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Babatpur in the evening. Thousands of BJP workers and residents of Kashi gathered outside the airport and gave an unprecedented welcome by playing drums, drums, damru and conch shells along with showering rose petals and chanting Har Har Mahadev and Jai Shri Ram. 

From there the Prime Minister’s convoy left for Kashi Vishwanath Temple. A large number of party workers and Kashi residents were present at the welcome points set up by the BJP at various places along the entire yatra route. 

As soon as PM Modi’s convoy reached near the welcome point, people were seen greeting the PM by shouting ‘Har Har Mahadev’ and ‘Jai Shri Ram’ along with showering rose petals. 

Overwhelmed by the love, affection and feeling of belongingness of the people of Kashi, PM Modi could not stop himself and kept moving ahead accepting their greetings by shaking hands.
