Barasat, 06 March: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a huge gathering in Barasat of North 24 Parganas in West Bengal on Wednesday. He launched a scathing attack on the nepotism of the opposition parties.

He shared an incident from his life in an emotional manner.

He told how he carried his empty bag and travelled the country without a penny in his pocket, and how the mothers and sisters of the country did not let him remain hungry. He said, ”Whenever we met, they asked, son, did you eat anything?”

The Prime Minister, in his 38 minute speech, on Wednesday slammed INDI alliance as well as the West Bengal Government.

He made a mention of Sandeshkhali and focussed on the public welfare schemes of the Central Government.

The PM said, ”Corrupt people of Indi-Alliance are asking about my family these days. These people are saying that Modi does not have his own family, that is why I speak against familyism.”

PM Modi accused the Mamata Banerjee government of West Bengal of not allowing the central government schemes to be implemented in the state.

He said, ”Women safety, Beti Bachao-Beti Badhao, Ujjwala scheme, cheap cylinder scheme were also not implemented in West Bengal.”

Mentioning Sandeshkhali, He said, “Poor tribal sisters are being tortured in Sandeshkhali. The Bengal government is trying with all its might to save the oppressors, but the anger of the women of Sandeshkhali has become a rising tide. The women power of Bengal has come out to destroy the mafia rule of TMC.”

Notably, the women of Sandeshkhali have accused TMC leader Sheikh Shahjahan of rape and land grabbing. After rebuke from the High Court, the police arrested Shahjahan Sheikh on February 29. However, Sheikh was arrested in connection with the deadly attack on the ED team during a raid on January 5.
