Petition filed for lodging an FIR against Rahul Gandhi dismissed

New Delhi, November 23: Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has dismissed a petition filed for lodging an first information report(FIR) against Rahul Gandhi for making derogatory statements against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate(ACMM) Vishal Pahuja ordered the dismissal of the petition.

In this case, on May 15, the Delhi Police filed an Action Taken Report. The police gave a clean chit to Rahul Gandhi. Delhi Police had said that no cognizable offense has been committed in this case.

According to Delhi Police, a separate defamation case can be filed in this case, but the case should be filed against whom the statement is made. On April 26 last, the court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Samar Vishal had directed the Delhi Police to file an Action Taken Report.

The petition was filed by Joginder Tuli. The petition sought registration of a case against Rahul Gandhi under Section 124A of the Indian Penal Code. The petition said that Rahul Gandhi made derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The petition said that Rahul Gandhi had said in his statement that Narendra Modi is hiding behind the blood of the soldiers and is touting the sacrifices of the soldiers.
