Permission granted to prosecute three railway officers in Land for Jobs case: CBI

New Delhi, 21 September: The CBI has also received approval from the union Home Ministry to prosecute three accused railway officials in the Land for Jobs case.

On Thursday, the CBI told Rouse Avenue Court that it has also gotten permission to prosecute Mandeep Kapoor, Manoj Pandey, and Dr. PL Bunker. The next hearing of the case will be on Friday, i.e., September 22.

Earlier on September 12, the CBI said that permission had been given to prosecute Lalu Prasad Yadav in this case. Till September 12, permission to prosecute the three officers was not granted, which has now been granted. On July 3, CBI filed a supplementary charge sheet.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav has been made an accused in this charge sheet. The CBI has already filed a charge sheet against Lalu Yadav and Rabri Devi in this case.

On March 15, the court granted bail to Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi, and Misa Bharti on a surety bond of Rs 50,000 each. On February 27, the court took cognizance of the charge sheet filed against all the accused, including these three.

On October 7, 2022, the CBI filed a charge sheet in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court against 16 accused, including Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi, and Misa Bharti, in the Railway Recruitment Scam case.

The third week of May, the CBI raided 17 locations linked to Lalu Yadav’s family in this case.

The CBI had raided the locations of Lalu Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi, and his daughter Misa Bharti in Patna, Gopalganj, and Delhi. CBI had registered a preliminary investigation in this case on September 23.
