In such a situation, the administration has ordered strict action against the vehicles over-speeding in the tunnel or stopping at the tunnel.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday afternoon, the driver of a high speed Tata 407 lost control of the vehicle near the misty bridge and his vehicle overturned on another vehicle. Fortunately, the four passengers in the car survived safely.

In this regard, Superintendent of Police (SP) Gaurav Singh said that Kullu and Lahaul police have deployed about 30 personnel near the tunnel. Doppler radars have been installed in tunnels to clamp down on over-speed vehicles. Strict action will be taken against the driver for driving an overspeed vehicle.

The BRO has also decided to construct a control room near the tunnel, whose work has been started.
