Online booking of country’s first side swing revolver ‘Prabal’ begins

Kanpur, 21 August: After the launch of India’s first long range revolver ‘Prabal’, now its sales are going to start. It was formally launched on Monday, 21 August. This revolver has been manufactured by Government owned company Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited (AWEIL) Kanpur. This light weight 0.32 bore revolver is capable of hitting targets at a distance of more than 50 meters.

The specialty of ‘Prabal’ revolver

Earlier versions of the revolver had to be folded to insert the cartridges, moreover, all the revolvers available in the market have a range of only up to 20 meters but Prabal’s range is up to 50 meters. It does not have to be folded to insert the cartridge, but the cartridge is inserted from the side swing.

Its weight is only 675 grams (without cartridges) and its barrel length is 76 mm. While its total length is 177.6 mm. Is. It has been developed by Government owned company Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited (AWEIL) Kanpur. Presently the stock is limited so the revolver will be sold on first come first serve basis. Its launch has also been started through online booking on Monday.

Rajeev Sharma, Executive Director, Small Arms Factory (SAF), Kanpur said that AWEIL is a government company manufacturing defense products at Armapur, Kanpur. It comprises eight factories of the erstwhile Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) and primarily manufactures small arms and guns for the Indian Armed Forces, foreign armies and for domestic civilian use. Through this, the country’s first side swing and 50 meter distance revolver ‘Prabal’ has been prepared.

The special thing about this modern revolver is that it is very light. Also, it is the most lethal distance revolver ever. Women can also keep it in purse for safety. Its booking has been started online from today. It can be booked by visiting the Ordnance Factory site. The Executive Director informed that the Prabal revolver was launched on 18 August.
