One-time settlement scheme for power defaulters, ‘Katia’ users to start from Nov 8

Lucknow, 04 November: The electricity department of the state government is going to implement the one-time settlement scheme (OTS) from November 8.

This scheme will be implemented in three sections for a total of 54 days from November 8 to December 31.

The first phase of this scheme will run from November 8 to 30, the second phase from December 1 to December 15 and the third phase from December 16 to December 31.

State Urban Development and Energy Minister AK Sharma gave this information in a press conference held at Jal Nigam’s field hostel ‘Sangam’ on Saturday.

He said that under this scheme, special attention has been given to domestic consumers and farmers. They have been given 100 percent exemption in surcharge. The facility to pay your dues in maximum 12 installments has been provided. Under this, LMV-1 (domestic), LMV-2 (commercial), LMV-4B (private institutions), LMV-5 (private tube well) and LMV-6 (industrial) consumers will be reimbursed their surcharge amount. Maximum discount has been provided.

Sharma added that besides, consumers have been provided the facility to pay their dues in installments. Under the scheme, in cases of electricity theft, consumers have also been given the facility of payment through lump sum payment or installments. They have been given the benefit of 75 percent rebate on their original dues and penalty amount.

Under the scheme, domestic consumers with load up to one kilowatt and farmer consumers up to LMV-5 will get 100 percent rebate in surcharge amount on full payment of dues by December 15 and 90 percent rebate if the dues are deposited in 12 installments during this period.

After this, there will be 80 percent discount on full payment and 70 percent discount on payment in 12 installments.

Similarly, domestic consumers with load more than one kilowatt have been given two options of payment in installments along with lump sum payment. You will get 90 percent discount on full payment of your dues by November 30, 80 percent discount on payment in 3 installments and 70 percent discount on payment in 6 installments.

Likewise, from 01st to 15th December, 80% discount on full payment, 70% discount on payment in 03 installments and 60% discount on payment in 06 installments, after 16th December, 70% discount on full payment, 60% discount on payment in 03 installments. And 50 percent discount will be available on payment in 06 installments.

Commercial consumers with load more than three kilowatts will get 60 percent discount on full payment by November 30 and 50 percent discount on payment in 3 installments.

In the subsequent phases, there will be a discount of 10% in both the options respectively. Private commercial institutions will get 50 percent discount on full payment of their dues by November 30 and 40 percent discount on payment in 3 installments.
