Jhansi, September 28: Two accused in the Arvind murder case, which took place recently in the Sipri Bazar police station area of โโJhansi district in Uttar Pradesh, were caught in a police encounter late Saturday night, police said.
One of these bounty accused was injured by a bullet, while the other surrendered to the police. The injured accused has been admitted to the hospital for first aid. So far, the police have arrested 11 murder accused in the Arvind murder case, while the main accused is still at large.
SP City Preeti Singh said that on September 8, Arvind Yadav, a resident of Bhojla village under Sipri Bazaar police station, was returning from the market on a bike with his wife Sunita. Due to an old rivalry, he was shot dead in broad daylight at the village square in front of his wife. The deceased’s wife had filed a murder case against former village head Rinku Yadav, Anil, Mithun, Ajit, Kullu, Rahul, Kailash, Amit, Sanjay, and Suresh. Several police teams are engaged in the search for the accused in this murder case. Last night, the Sipri Bazaar police station was searching for the absconding murder suspects.
SP city further told that meanwhile, the police team encountered two suspects near the Ari Canal culvert. Upon seeing the police team, both men started fleeing and opened fire at police. The police defended themselves by firing at both suspects. One of the suspects fell after being shot in the leg, while the other, frightened and surrendered. The two arrested accused turned out to be absconding criminals in the Arvind murder case, carrying a reward of 25,000 rupees each. Among the arrested murderers, Anil Yadav, a resident of Bhojla, was injured by gunfire, and the surrendered accused is Kailash alias Pappu. A pistol and live cartridges were recovered from their possession.
SP City said that so far the police team has arrested a total of 11 accused in the Arvind Yadav murder case. Among them, the police have arrested Mithun, Ajit, Suresh, Ashok Yadav, Sanjay Yadav, Rinku’s son Raja for conspiring and helping the accused, Mithun’s wife Rajni, Kullu’s wife Rekha, Rammilan’s son Indrajit, Bhamar Singh Yadav, and Bhan Singh. Currently, the main accused, Rinku Yadav, along with Rahul and Kullu alias Amit, are absconding. The SSP has announced a reward of 25,000 rupees each for them. Police teams are working to arrest them.
