On visit to ‘Devbhoomi’, PM Modi meets ITBP jawans, interacts with locals

Pithoragarh, , 12 Oct: After paying homage to Adi Kailash in his sacred abode Parvatikund, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with residents and received the blessings of the old at Gunji village in Uttarakhand’s Pitthoragarh district on Thursday.

During a day-long visit to ‘Devbhoomi,’ PM Modi also engaged with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) soldiers stationed at the borders.

After praying at Parvati Kund in Pithoragarh, PM Modi traveled to Gunji hamlet, which is located 11,000 meters above Pithoragarh.

PM Modi was also photographed pounding the drum with people. He also went to see the exhibition of Gunji village’s native arts and antiquities.

PM Modi was taken to Gunji by Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami. Gunji, popularly known as Shiv Sthal, is a popular tourist destination in the mountainous state. A Shiv Mahotsav conducted here in 2021 received a lot of attention and was well-attended by both locals and guests from all across the country.

PM Modi also published photos from his visit to Parvati Kund on his official social media channel X. “Sharing some more glimpses from Parvati Kund,” Prime Minister Modi wrote on X.

PM Modi is slated to go from Gunji village to Jageshwar in Almora district, where he would do Pooja at Jageshwar Dham.
