Now book tickets through IRCTC mobile app from March

New Delhi, 06 February: The service of booking train, airplane and bus tickets through Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) mobile-app will probably start in the first week of March,โ€ IRCTC said in a statement.

Meanwhile, bus tickets can also be reserved online through the website of IRCTC, a unit of Indian Railways.

Earlier there was a provision to book train and airplane travel tickets.

Bus booking services started in 22 states and 3 union territories

The Railway Ministry said in a statement on Saturday that now book bus tickets through IRCTC. IRCTC has introduced online bus booking services in 22 states and 3 union territories, providing overall travel experience to the passengers. Travellers can now book seats at their convenience.

Booking on IRCTC mobile-app will be done from first week of March

According to the statement of IRCTC, IRCTC, under the leadership of Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, is gradually moving towards the position of making itself the first government one stop shop travel portal in the country.

โ€œIRCTC is already in the business of booking online rail and flight tickets to provide a complete travel experience to the customers. Presently keeping in mind the demand of time and passenger convenience, IRCTC has started online bus booking services on January 29 to serve the country,โ€ IRCTC said in a statement. ย 

Agreement with more than 50 thousand state road transport as well as private bus operators

According to the IRCTC officials, through the new microsite, customers will be able to select bus seats from their homes as well as book seats in buses of their choice. IRCTC has tied up with more than 50,000 state road transport as well as private bus operators covering 22 states and 3 union territories to provide online bus seat booking services to customers.

Passengers will be able to choose the seat of their choice, discount on payment through bank and e-wallet

The new facility of online bus booking will give customers the option to select their route, facilities, reviews, ratings, even suitable bus seats with different types of buses. With this, passengers i.e. customers will also be able to choose their pick-up and drop point and timing. Finally, travellers can book their journey at a reasonable price with discounts through bank and e-wallet.

IRCTC’s new business initiative will provide connectivity to the final destination for passengers using IRCTC’s services for train and flight ticket booking.
