New Delhi, 14th December: Amid the threat of new variant Omicron of SARS-CoV-2, causing Covid-19, NITI Aayog member Dr VK Paul said on Tuesday that in view of the current situation, we should develop such a vaccine platform which is compatible with the changing nature of the virus.

Addressing an event organized by the industry body Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on Tuesday, the head of the Corona Task Force, Dr VK Paul, talked about revising the vaccines every year.

He said that there is a need to make the vaccine more effective in the changing nature of coronavirus.

Dr Paul expressed concern over the changing nature of the coronavirus to be able to modify the vaccines as needed. It may not happen every three months, but it can happen every year.

It is noteworthy that the cases of Omicron are on the rise rapidly across the country. It spreads more quickly than the delta version. It is spreading rapidly in many countries of the world. So far 61 cases have been reported in India too.
