New Delhi, 14 July: The National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET-UG) formerly the All India Pre-Medical test (AIPMT) examination will be held on July 17, as per schedule. The Delhi High Court on Thursday dismissed a petition seeking postponement of the NEET-UG examination.

A bench of Justice Sanjeev Narula questioned how 15 students can demand rescheduling of the exam date.

The court called the petition to be completely wrong and dismissed the petition without cost as petitioners were students.

During the hearing, counsel for the National Testing Agency said that more than 90 per cent students have downloaded the admit cards. He said the delay in conducting exams will impact future academic sessions. He said similar demands were raised in 2020 and 2021 as well, which the courts refused to accede to.

Petition stated that the examination of NEET-UG was clashing with the examination of CUET. CUET exam is starting from July 15. Petition stated that the National Testing Agency in its official notice had said that while preparing the schedule of CUET examination, NEET-UG would be taken care of, but the examination of NEET-UG is scheduled on July 17.
