Nanded (Maharashtra): 24 patients including 12 newborns died in a single day in Shankarrao Chavan Hospital

Mumbai, 02 October: So far, 24 patients have died in the last 24 hours at Shankarrao Chavan Hospital located in Nanded district. The dead also included 12 newborn children.

Dr SR Wakode, head of Shankarrao Chavan Government Hospital, said that the patients were brought to the hospital in the last stages. Even after this the cases are being investigated.

24 patients have died in the last 24 hours at Dr Shankarrao Chavan Government Hospital located in Nanded district. The 12 newborn deaths include 6 boys and 6 girls, while the other 12 died due to snakebite. Snakebite medicines are not being supplied in this hospital.

SR Wakode, head of Dr. Shankarrao Chavan Hospital, has given a vague answer in this regard. However, social workers in Nanded district have demanded a thorough investigation into the matter.

A similar incident had earlier also happened at Kalwa Hospital in Thane. 22 people died in Thane government hospital in just 36 hours. The investigation into this matter was ordered by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and the investigation into the matter is ongoing.
