Mukhtar Ansari produced before court

Mau, 15 Sept: Mukhtar Ansari, a mafia-turned-politician, was brought before an MP/MLA court here on Thursday in connection with a Gangster Act case, under heavy security. Mani Bahadur Singh, the in-charge government counsel, stated that the special court has ordered Ansari to appear in court in connection with the case filed at the Dakshin Tola police station.

Anwar Shahzad, Mohammad Saleem, and Shah Alam, three additional co-accused in the case, also appeared in court. The court issued charges against them and set the next hearing date for September 30. Dhananjay Mishra, Circle Officer (City), said the lawmaker afterwards departed for Banda district jail.
