Washington, 22 June: US President Joe Biden and his wife Jill Biden presented a handmade antique American book galley from the early 20th century to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the first official visit to the US.
The Biden couple also gifted a vintage American camera with Eastman?s Patent of the first Kodac camera, a hardcover book on American wildlife photography, and a signed first copy of collected poems of Robert Frost.
Modi thanked Joe Biden and Jill Biden for hosting him at the White House. Modi said that they had a great conversation on several subjects.
Modi gifted a 7.5-carat lab-grown green diamond, and a sandalwood box to Joe and Jill Biden. The sandal box is crafted by a master craftsman from Jaipur, Rajasthan. The sandalwood was brought from Mysuru in Karnataka.
Modi also gifted a copy of the first edition print of the book ?The Principal Upanishads? by Faber and Faber Limited of London, printed at the University Press Glasgow, AP has reported.
