New Delhi, March 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday set a new record by serving as head of government for 8,931 consecutive days, surpassing the previous mark of 8,930 days held by former Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling.
The senior BJP leaders including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and Rekha Gupta have described this achievement as a milestone of unwavering commitment and public service. This includes his three terms as Chief Minister of Gujarat and his current third term as Prime Minister. In this long journey of more than 24 years, he did not take a single day’s leave.
Home Minister Amit Shah said on X, “This record is built on the foundation of service, hard work, and unwavering commitment. Modi’s 8,931 days reflect nation-first governance and integrity in action. He has served the nation without taking a break, which is why he is receiving unprecedented public affection.”
Congratulating him, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that Prime Minister Modi has now become India’s longest-serving head of government. From Chief Minister of Gujarat to Prime Minister of the country, his life has been a path of continuous service. This achievement is a testament to his dedicated leadership and devotion to the nation.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta described it as the fulfillment of the resolve for “Antyodaya,” saying that Modi has redefined development. His visionary and bold decisions have won the trust of millions of countrymen, which is an inspiration for all of us.
