Minorities massacre in Kashmir: (Update) NIA team raids 15 places, many people taken into custody, important documents seized

Srinagar, October 10: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday conducted raids at several places in the Kashmir Valley. The raids have been carried out at about 15 places in Srinagar, Kulgam, Baramulla, Sopore and Anantnag.

During this, the NIA team has also raided the house of Sajjad Gul, Commander of The Resistance Front (TRF), which is called the Hit Squad of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Documents have also been seized from several places. Some people are being taken into custody and interrogated.

This raid is being done in connection with instigating youth in Kashmir, publication of the magazine Voice of Hind that fuels extremism, recovery of IEDs, terror funding, helping terrorist organizations and anti-national elements. So far, the NIA team has detained Ejaz Ahmed Tak, Mudasir Ahmed Ahangar, Naseer Manzoor Mir and Junaid Hussain besides some others in these cases.

Officials concerned said that this morning the NIA team raided several places including Srinagar with the help of police, CRPF and army. NIA proceedings were on till the last information was received and other details are awaited.

It is worth mentioning that seven people have been killed by terrorists in the Kashmir Valley in the last one week. Out of these, 4 minorities are also included, to deal with which the administration has taken a tough stand.

Along with tightening security in the Kashmir Valley, the police have detained hundreds of suspects for questioning while intensifying the operation against the terrorists and their supporters. Most of them include old and infamous stone pelters, activists of Jamaate Islami, former terrorists and old guides of terrorists, over ground workers.

Many minorities living in Kashmir have migrated to other cities including Jammu. In view of the situation, the administration has increased the security of all the minority settlements in the valley. Siege and search is being done in the areas under the influence of terrorists.

Relevant sources said that the police have intensified the nabbing of the suspected elements to completely expose the conspiracy to target the minorities. About five hundred people have been taken into custody for questioning.
