Mercury drops by 10°C in 3 days across Uttar Pradesh, New Year to come with rain, cold wave

Kanpur, 30 December: Amidst the severe winter condition across Uttar Pradesh, the temperature is continuously falling due to icy winds.

In the last three days, a drop of 10 degrees Celsius was recorded in the maximum temperature from the average temperature. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of dense fog in 53 districts of the state.

This information was given by Dr S.N. Sunil Pandey, meteorologist of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur on Saturday.

He said that cold wave situation is prevailing in the state. Even after the Cold Day warning was issued, the temperature was not recorded below four degrees Celsius anywhere whereas Bijnor recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 06 degree Celsius.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of dense fog in 53 districts on Saturday. These include Kanpur, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Unnao, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Aurai, Sambhal, Etawah, Farrukhabad, Fatehpur, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Pratapgarh, Jaunpur, Varanasi, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Bhadohi, Gorakhpur, Deoria, Ballia, similarly, dense fog alert has been issued in districts including Basti, Bahraich, Ayodhya, Gonda, Ambedkar Nagar, Maharajganj, Pilibhit.
