Lucknow, April 15: A massive fire erupted under suspicious circumstances in the slum areas of Vikas Nagar, Lucknow, on Wednesday evening, with several fire brigade vehicles battling the blaze as residents alleged it was deliberately set, destroying their household belongings.Many families live in slum areas of the Vikas Nagar Sector 14, under the Vikas Nagar police station area.
A fierce blaze broke out in the huts of Vikas Nagar, Lucknow, on Wednesday evening, rapidly engulfing several dwellings as exploding gas cylinders intensified the fire, sending flames and thick black smoke across the area; police and more than six fire brigade vehicles rushed to the scene, where firefighting efforts were still underway at the time of reporting
Meanwhile, local residents are angry and claim the fires were set to force them to vacate their huts.
Responsible officials say extinguishing the fire is their top priority. Relief and rescue operations are underway, and the damage will be assessed after the fire is extinguished.
