Manish Sisodia to stay in jail, next hearing on Nov 22

New Delhi, October 19: Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia appeared in Rouse Avenue Court on Thursday in the CBI-related case of the Delhi Excise Scam.

The court was told that the Supreme Court has reserved its decision on the bail plea of Sisodia. After that, the court postponed the hearing of the case until November 22.

On September 20, the court directed the CBI to provide the documents related to the charge sheet to Sisodia. On August 22, the court allowed Sisodia to release money for development work from the MLA fund. On April 25, the CBI filed a supplementary charge sheet in this case in Delhi.

Apart from Sisodia, the CBI has named Buchi Babu, Arjun Pandey, and Amandeep Dhall as accused in the supplementary charge sheet. Buchi Babu is the daughter of Telangana Chief Minister KC Rao. Kavita has been a CA. Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on February 26.

The CBI filed the first charge sheet on November 25, 2022. The court took cognizance of the first charge sheet on December 15, 2022. The court had framed charges against the accused under Section 120B of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 7, 7A, and 8 of the Anti-Corruption Act.

The court has taken cognizance of the first charge sheet, which includes Kuldeep Singh, Narendra Singh, Vijay Nair, Abhishek Boinpalli, Arun Ramachandra Pillai, Mutthu Gautam, and Sameer Mahendru.
