Make Lucknow’s electricity system tripping free and ideal: Chairman UPPCL

Lucknow, 06 January: As per the intention of the Chief Minister and the Energy Minister, the capital Lucknow (the area under LESA) is to be made an area with an ideal electricity system without tripping.

Goyal added for this, every officer and employee should fulfill their assigned responsibilities and targets with hard work and honesty. The personnel who do not work will not be covered under LESA, said Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) Chairman Ashish Kumar Goyal in the review meeting of LESA on Saturday.

Addressing the meeting of the Executive Engineer and officials at Madhyanchal Headquarters located on Gokhale Marg, the Chairman said that you people are an important part of the electricity system of the capital. It is your responsibility that the electricity system here should be an ideal system where electricity supply is tripping free and of high quality, consumers get bills with correct readings, any problems of consumers are resolved immediately, new connections are easily obtained, line losses are minimized. At least yes, electricity theft should be completely stopped and electricity bills should be paid for the amount of electricity given.

The Chairman said that wherever commercial work is taking place, commercial connection should be given. No consumer should be harassed. Load should be checked, correct meter reading should be done and correct type of connection should be given.

The Chairman said that no transformer in the capital should be damaged due to negligence in the coming summer. Necessary maintenance work should be done. RDSS to strengthen the system of Lucknow. Works worth about Rs 850 crore and about Rs 250 crore under the business plan are being carried out. After this there should be no problem in the capital. He said that if the transformer is damaged anywhere, its responsibility will be fixed.

He said that action will be taken by fixing the responsibility on the executive engineer on the damage to the power transformer. Similarly, in case of damage to 100 KVA transformer, responsibility will be fixed on the concerned personnel.

The Chairman said that maintenance campaigns have been conducted in the past. The maintenance campaign will be conducted again in the coming February. There is extreme sensitivity to electricity supply in summer. Due to which reasons electricity gets disrupted during summer, those reasons should be resolved immediately. All the necessary work including necessary maintenance and cutting of branches should be done before summer. Any kind of negligence will not be tolerated in this.

The Chairman said that efforts should be made continuously to stop electricity theft. Check consumers, send bills for correct readings. For this, do assisted meter reading. For meter reading, officials of electricity corporations should go with the meter reader. Executive Engineer, Superintending Engineer and Chief Engineer should also take readings. Determine the correct load and ensure proper facilities.

The Chairman made detailed inquiries to the Executive Engineers and Superintending Engineers about the electricity related works in their area and gave them necessary instructions.

He said that the connection here is less as compared to 16 percent commercial connection in the country, hence make efforts to increase the commercial connection in Lucknow also. Take it to 20 percent because this is an urban area.

The Chairman said that consumers are very important for us. We are public servants. Be sensitive towards them. Resolve their complaints and problems immediately. Many senior officers including Corporation Managing Director Pankaj Kumar, Madhyanchal Managing Director Bhavani Singh Khangraut and Director Commercial Amit Srivastava were present in this meeting which lasted from 10 am to 2 pm.
