Lucknow: Woman paramedic hangs self in KGMU

Lucknow, 24 April: A woman named Bittan, a contractual worker working at King George’s Medical University (KGMU), committed suicide by hanging herself.

Meanwhile, seeing co-worker’s body hanging from the ceiling fan in the private room, the staff present there informed the university administration. As soon as the information spread in the university, the police team from Chowk police station took the body in their possession and started further action.

Inspector Nagesh, in-charge of Chowk police station, said that the husband of the deceased woman had informed the KGMU administration that the woman was ill. The deceased woman hanged herself in the Medical University that led to spread of panic in the medical university.

He said that the KGMU administration has demanded an investigation into the matter. At present, preliminary information has come from the statement of the husband of Bittan, the deceased woman in the incident, that the woman was suffering from an illness. She had night shift on Tuesday night. This morning only the staff who came for shift change saw her body. Further investigation is underway.
