Lucknow, June 22: On the orders of Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Transport, Uttar Pradesh Dayashankar Singh, the Transport Department has doubled the quota of Permanent Driving License (DL) from Learning in the entire state including Lucknow.

However, the increased quota will be applicable from Thursday. With this, applicants will get the dates soon on the application for making permanent DL.

Due to the reduction in the quota of permanent driving license from learning in Uttar Pradesh, till now the dates for making permanent DL were not available in time. This used to end the validity of the learning DL for six months. Because of this, both the money and time of the applicants were wasted.

So, after the order of Minister of State for Transport Dayashankar Singh, the Transport Department has doubled the quota of permanent DL applications across the state. The increased quota will be applicable from June 23.

A senior official of the Transport Headquarters said on Wednesday that earlier the daily quota of permanent DL applications in the state was 5,814, which has now been increased to 11,628 applications whereas earlier 198 applications were taken in Transportnagar RTO office of Lucknow, now 396 will be taken. The quota of Deva Road ARTO office was 36, which has increased to 72.

Lucknow RTO Divisional Inspector (RI) Prashant Kumar said that the increase in quota has brought relief to the applicants applying for permanent driving license from learning. Actually, the validity of Learning DL is for six months. In such a situation, if the applicant used to apply for a permanent DL after four months, then the date was not received within the next 90 days.
