Lucknow, 8 Dec: After barging into the trauma center at King George’s Medical University (KGMU), a bogus doctor was apprehended. According to reports, the imposter, who presented himself as Satyam, entered the ward and spoke with critically sick patients, persuading them to transfer to a private hospital for allegedly better care.

Despite wearing a doctor’s coat and carrying a stethoscope, Satyam’s odd behaviour drew the notice of medical personnel who were unfamiliar with him. The man got past security and inside the ward.

When questioned, Satyam stated that he had come to see a certain patient, but when escorted to the patient, they denied knowing him.

Further inquiry uncovered an ID card with information on the Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, albeit misspelled. “Even his degree was listed as ‘course MBBS-MS,’ which was incorrect. No medical course is written like this,” claimed Prof Sandip Tiwari, the trauma center’s top medical superintendent.

He then tried to run but was apprehended by workers and security personnel. Satyam then revealed that he is a pharmacy student at a private college. According to the reports, KGMU authorities filed a case against him at Chowk police station.
