Lucknow: Farooq who robbed businessman’s house and killed his wife, shot dead in UP police encounter

Mathura, 12 Nov: Officials claimed a man was shot dead in a police encounter here after being suspected of murder and looting and carrying a Rs 50,000 reward.

“On Saturday night, one Farookh, a resident of Matiya Darwaza, was injured in a police encounter near a hotel under the Highway police station,” Mathura SSP Sailesh Kumar Pandey said. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead, SSP added.

According to police, Farookh and a man named Mohsin assaulted businessmen Krishna Kumar Agarwal and his wife Kalpana Agarwal on November 4 and looted their home. The woman died as a result of her injuries, but the husband is battling for his life in a hospital.

On November 10, the police detained Mohsin and retrieved some cash from his possession. We recovered a bag containing Rs 21.8 lakh, jewelleries and a pistol from Farookh,” stated the police official.
