New Delhi, March 30: Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba has clarified that 21-day nationwide lockdown to prevent from the spread of the novel corona virus pandemic (COVID-19) will not be extended.

It has been clarified by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) of Information and Broadcasting Ministry on Monday that rumour and media reports claiming 21-days lockdown due to COVID-19 across the country will forwarded are baseless.

However, The Cabinet Secretary has refuted all media reports and rumors that claimed that the government could increase the lockdown. T

Though, tweet mentioning necessary warning that people should not pay heed to the rumours.

It has been claimed through rumours and media reports that the government will extend the lockdown period after the 21-days.

The Cabinet Secretary has denied these such media reports, saying that they are unfounded.

Due to the 21-days lockdown, concessions and benefits are being given by the government for three months to the migrant labourers, workers and farmers that resulted in giving air to the rumours and confusion that the government will extend the lockdown.

Following the lockdown, exodus of workers and labourers has started from big cities to their respective hometowns as they lost their jobs.
