Lockdown 3.O Day 2: UP police files FIR against 37136 people for flouting lockdown orders, recovers Rs 15.03 crore as fine

Lucknow, May 05: The Uttar Pradesh Police has registered an First Information Report (FIR) against 37136 people for not following the lockdown orders in Uttar Pradesh.

However, police have recovered a mitigation fee of Rs 15.03 crore as a fine from the vehicle owners.

Nationwide lockdown is being strictly enforced throughout the country to contain the spread of highly contagious novel coronavirus disease (Covid-19) infection. Despite this, people were seen venturing around on the streets unnecessarily.

Police by barricading all intersections of the cities in the state have launched an intensive checking of vehicles.

Under this, the police have slapped challans against eight lakh vehicles and seized around thirty five thousand vehicles in Uttar Pradesh.

A mitigation fee of Rs 15.03 crore has been recovered from the vehicle owners. During this time police have registered FIR against 37136 under section 188 Act of CrPC.

Uttar Pradesh ADG (Law and Order) PV Ramasastri said that the lockdown is being strictly imposed in the state. Hotspots areas in red zones are being monitored through drone cameras.
